Second Innings FOR THE ELDERLY
Second Innings is a thoughtfully designed space for senior citizens to rediscover joy, purpose, and self-expression in a phase of life that is often overlooked.
As social circles shrink and routines become quieter, many elders experience loneliness, a loss of identity, and a feeling of being unheard. Second Innings gently shifts this narrative—transforming isolation into connection, and stillness into meaningful engagement.
Through creative expression, storytelling, movement, and shared experiences, the program rekindles confidence, stimulates memory, and nurtures emotional well-being. It offers not just activities, but a renewed sense of belonging—where laughter returns, friendships are built, and every individual is reminded: you still matter.
More than a program, Second Innings is a celebration of life beyond milestones—encouraging seniors to rejuvenate, explore, and de-stress, using Dance, Art and Dance Therapy while embracing this chapter with dignity, creativity, and hope.
CREATE’S GOT TALENT - SECOND INNINGS
Presented by the CREATE Foundation, in association with Rotary Club of Bombay Pier and APAR Industries , CREATE’s Got Talent — Second Innings was a heartwarming celebration of talent, confidence, friendship and new beginnings.
On 8th August 2026 at ADAPT, Bandra, the stage came alive as 150 senior citizens from the Worli, Mazgaon and Byculla centres of Dignity Foundation showcased dance, drama, art and creative expression — many stepping onto a professional stage for the very first time.
The occasion was made even more special by the presence and encouragement of Manju Sampat, Manju Utamchandani, Nisha JamVwal, Sabira Merchant, Mehr and Nosherwan Jehangir, Rati Godrej and her son Burjis Godrej, Sanjukta Barik and Varsha Hooja from ADAPT , who came together to support and celebrate our wonderful seniors.
More than a performance, it was a celebration of newfound confidence, creativity and the joy of discovering that life always offers another opportunity to shine. Every dance learnt, every line remembered, every brushstroke painted and every smile rediscovered reminded us of one simple truth:
Talent has no age. And it’s never too late to take centre stage.
Week 1 (session 1) - Dance Therapy
- Let the body express what words cannot.
- Light movement and music to energize the body and uplift the soul.
- Reconnects seniors with rhythm, memory, and joy.
Week 2 (session 2) - Art Therapy
- Helps with memory, focus, and calmness while boosting confidence.
- Every brushstroke is a release.
- Simple guided art activities using colours and textures to process emotions.
Week 3 (session 3)- De-Stress with Drama Therapy
- Let the body express what words cannot.
- Light movement and music to energize the body and uplift the soul.
- Reconnects seniors with rhythm, memory, and joy.
Drama Therapy
- Where stories come alive again.
- Theatre games, mime, and short scenes tap into imagination.
- Encourages expression, storytelling, and laughter in a safe, inclusive space.
