 Freedom will take you through an unforgettable journey, where one takes the principles from the freedom movement and learns to use them in present situations with an integrated cast of 350 children from 5 different Ngo’s:

Aseema

Akanksha

Society for the Education of the Crippled (SEC)

Central Society for the Education of the Deaf (CSED)

Happy Home and school for the Blind

along with children from

The Academy for Creative Expression (ACE)

A huge endeavor that involves:

  • Technical extravagance by Alyque Padamsee
  • Live music by The Symphony Orchestra of India
  • Breathtaking sets by Fali Unwalla
  • Gorgeous costumes by Tarun Tahiliani
  • Original Score by Merlin D'souza
  • and a specially composed anthem by Shankar Loy Ehsaan
 

 

 

PRE_EVENTS

On Wednesday 9th January 2008 : At the Rajni Patel Memorial Gardens, next to NSCI Club, Worli. 6pm

  • Unveiling of the visual of 'FREEDOM', at Rajni Patel Memorial Garden, which is a especially created by renowned artist Brinda Chudasama  Miller.
  • The Governor of Maharashtra along with the Commissioner of the BMC will grace the occasion.
  • There will also be an excerpt of the play 'FREEDOM'.

On Monday 14th January 2008 : At the Jamshed Bhabha Auditorium - 6pm

  • Children from the NGO’s and from The Academy for Creative Expression (ACE),will walk the ramp along with well known celebrities to raise funds for the NGO’s through Raell Padamsee's Create Foundation.
  • The children will don the creations of top designers - Anita Dongre, Narendra Kumar & Neeta Lulla, their interpretation of freedom!

On Thursday 17th January 2008 : At the Gateway of India - 6pm

  • A Live Performance at the opening ceremony of the Mumbai Festival along with a dance performance with children from The Academy for Creative Expression (ACE) along with children from the NGO's.
  • Music release - special anthem written & composed by Shankar Eshaan Loy.

On Friday 18th January 2008 : At The NCPA- 6pm

  • Children from schools all over Mumbai have painted their definition of FREEDOM and the 100 shortlisted will be displayed
  • Renowned Artists like Akbar Padamsee and Jehangir Sabavala will judge the paintings.
  • The winners will get to display their art works at the show and will be awarded prizes by the masters of Indian Art.
